My family values were imparted to me while a child in our home. I adjusted some things following marriage because some of my concepts were foreign to my wife. Also, I needed to learn and add some of the family values she brought to our marriage.

2) How much of an influence were your parents/grandparents on your family values?

I never knew my Grandparents but I learned things that they lived through my parents. Having both parents helped develop in me unbreakable values. Mom taught me to love unconditionally and Dad taught me to be masculine and strong. That’s why I strongly love my family and other people. My parents positively effected and affected every core value that I have.

3)Do you hope to pass your family values onto your children or hope they find their own?

Both. I hope they learn and value the things we value as a family like respect for and love for each other, following Jesus, church on Sunday. Commitment, faithfulness, support for each other.

4) What is missing in your surrounding and greater society in regards to family values?

Liberalism has perverted our society negatively effecting Biblical morals and values. We are taught secular humanism in our schools and throughout our culture wherein the individual is the center of all things. “Situational ethics” has replaced core values so that everyone does what seems right in their own heart. When we recognize and serve nothing higher then self then everything becomes self centered (liberalism) (secular humanism) and brings about the lack of esteeming others (family) higher then self. Commitment to family takes a lower place than self satisfaction.

5) Do you firmly believe your family values are the “right” way? If so, why?

Only those with an ideology on the “right” have them. The “left”, by their own definition is “liberal.” Liberal ideology means “those who reject absolutes, or living without absolutes.” The “left” is a lie because there are certain physical and spiritual laws (gravity, 10 commandments) that are absolutes. Family values require us to hold values and this requires us to be on the “right.” FAMILY VALUES ARE RIGHT, PROPER, MORAL, ACCURATE, SUITABLE, and give CORE and SECURITY to individuals. Yes, family values are the “right” way.

6) I hope this finds you questioning perhaps the biggest questions of all and that is how much of value is your life to you and those you love?

I don’t know how to measure this but I believe that I hold far less value to those whom I love than the value they are to me.
