SEO and niche sites

Remember back in early March when I posted this article about Intelligent Adsense?  I was working on a site design which adhered to the name of the domain.  It was evident at the time that it was a good hit.  I had a few good discussions about the site and I had a decent CPM and CTR.  Initially I was thinking of just leaving the site as is but then I saw an immediate decline from traffic.  Not only that but some people commented on how the contrast was difficult to endure.  The idea was great, but the visual appeal was terrible.  So what did I do?  I redesigned it.

WebsiteOutlook.com has one one of the best site statistic/value calculator’s I’ve seen. Just type in your web address and websiteoutlook.com will do the rest.

My web site had increased a little over $600.00 in 7 days and that’s saying a lot for me.

Always write a contract

April 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Design | Synergy

Roughly 18 months ago talks were made with a local Real Estate business in the small town of Delhi, NY about redesigning their current webpage. At first the discussion was about a possible new host provider in that their current one was not benefiting their business. I have this chip on my shoulder for clean and bold websites. Their existing design at the time though unique, was full of browser incompatibilities. An old format of flash was their primary form of navigation. The listing page was actually a separate page all together and it’s style did not match their site as a whole. I can go on and on about the designer’s flaws, but I won’t. And, there were many other questionable things they wanted to discuss about their site. They asked me to help them out and I was happy to.

Since by trade I am a building contractor I always approach a job no matter the size with a formal contract. These contracts always are discussed and re-written with the client before a signature is made from either party. Folks, always write a contract! I am so glad I did because I could have really dug myself a hole with this design. Fortunately I was dealing with very respectable people and we both saw eye to eye with the objective before us.

The Collaboration

With progress being made on both my end of a bargain and the email replies I’ve been receiving about the future of MooJooBee I am anxious for what is to come more so than ever. I’m trying to keep things quiet as to not create a shocker to everyone. But to those who are our readers, friends, and family, I would like to present to you something I am sure we can all agree on is pretty awesome.

Do you remember the proposal for contributors about this generation needing to be heard? Well, here is a sneak peek at the driving force behind it. My latest creation…

The Collaboration.

The American dollar. How low will it go?

March 24th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in News | Synergy

Just how poor is the dollar?

I’m amazed at how much this currency has dropped in value over the years… even months. It wasn’t too long ago that Canada’s dollar surpassed the US dollar. With a 9 trillion dollar debt I am shocked the US dollar has any value to it. Many of the commenter’s for this video stated they were experiencing some of the same problems in other countries when exchanging the US dollar for the local currency. In the video it talks about a $4.00 orange juicefor what looked to be 20oz. Is orange juice that valuable to you?
