Vimeo Video HD test

April 27th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Videos | Synergy

Edit: Further review and research finds that vimeo actually does not allow HD embedding at this time. This may be a feature made possible from a “pro” account.

While thinking this would work, vimeo currently does not allow for high definition embedding for members at this time. Possibly in the near future this feature will be available for “pro” users… Hmm, I’m not sure how that will effect their current relationship with traffic flow, my guess is not too well.

To really see a video in HD you must actually view the video on their website. I understand the concern with embedding HD video in which it would consume so much bandwidth, still, a possible feature most video (dare I say all) do not have. A milestone which I see dominated by vimeo, soon.

MooJooBee.com introduces theme version 5.0 for the highly anticipated update of Wordpress

Version 5.0As noted in a previous entry, Worpress has about released (update: They have released RC1) version 2.5. The current theme we were using was too *busy* and actually noted a decrease of traffic with that theme. Not so much because there was a lack of content, but because it wasn’t a good theme at all. WP_Premium 1.0 by R.Bhavesh has provided the perfect base for a new theme. One that is compliant with most all current web standards as noted with the WaSP group. I also have more control with my sidebar content over there on the right hand side of this page. Soon I’ll be implementing interactive content for GUI (Graphical User Interface) such as AJAX comments, real time visitor status, the pages you’ve visited on my site and how long you’ve been on each page. This is actually good for both of us, you and me, as I’ll be able to target material to your interest as this software helps me.

Since the creation of Mark and Heather’s gallery I was inspired to redo ours. I know what you’re thinking, “Is he ever going to be satisfied with his creations?” Simply, no. I have always wanted for a very long time to implement this gallery software from ZenPhoto which has given me nothing but trouble over the past few years until this past winter they basically reworked their code from the ground up. “Darren, why not use a free image hosting niche like Photoucket?” Because I don’t like the limitations they have. MooJooBee.com has decent traffic and images hosted with a site like Photobucket would eventually not show with that annoying *bandwidth exceed* stamp where the image should be. ZenPhoto in my opinion is better than Coppermine (our current gallery code) and MUCH easier to customize to the demands of MooJooBee.com. ZenPhoto loads faster, preserves a seemingly more accurate EXIF data for each image, and I just overall am pleased with it now that I have it working. Now don’t get me wrong… Coppermine is POWERFUL and that is really the reason I am eliminating it from our site as the main gallery program. In many ways Coppermine is better than ZenPhoto, just not for MooJooBee.com. Keep checking back for updates with the release of our new gallery.
