What I learned last evening.
I learned what it meant to truly be hurt.
I learned what it meant to truly be deceived.
I learned what it meant to truly be cast to the curb.
I learned what it meant to truly be forgotten.
I learned what it meant to truly be the victim.
I learned what it meant to truly be lonely.
I learned what it meant to truly want what I no longer can have.I learned that deception destroys lives, and… love.
That word has no value to it right now. That word no longer belongs in my ears or heart.
I learned what true friends are.
- the ones that don’t matter mean the most
- the ones that do matter mean the least.
- the ones that stand in your face and tell you you’re wrong are the wisest.
- the ones that are there only to validate feelings are only thinking about themselves.\
- the ones that sit and seek true wisdom on their knees with you are wisest.
No longer do I have to feel guilt and shame for my own deception in my circle of family and friends. No, not even now do I sit and point the finger because it is beyond my conviction.
I know what endurance means. And I know what forgiveness is. I love feeling of humbleness because of the appreciation that grows from it. Before us is right and wrong. And if you do wrong, a true wise friend will see that and intercede on your behalf. If you do wrong, KNOW that forgiveness is available where guilt does not reside.
