MooJooBee.com introduces theme version 5.0 for the highly anticipated update of Wordpress

March 21st, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Design, News | Synergy

Version 5.0As noted in a previous entry, Worpress has about released (update: They have released RC1) version 2.5. The current theme we were using was too *busy* and actually noted a decrease of traffic with that theme. Not so much because there was a lack of content, but because it wasn’t a good theme at all. WP_Premium 1.0 by R.Bhavesh has provided the perfect base for a new theme. One that is compliant with most all current web standards as noted with the WaSP group. I also have more control with my sidebar content over there on the right hand side of this page. Soon I’ll be implementing interactive content for GUI (Graphical User Interface) such as AJAX comments, real time visitor status, the pages you’ve visited on my site and how long you’ve been on each page. This is actually good for both of us, you and me, as I’ll be able to target material to your interest as this software helps me.

Since the creation of Mark and Heather’s gallery I was inspired to redo ours. I know what you’re thinking, “Is he ever going to be satisfied with his creations?” Simply, no. I have always wanted for a very long time to implement this gallery software from ZenPhoto which has given me nothing but trouble over the past few years until this past winter they basically reworked their code from the ground up. “Darren, why not use a free image hosting niche like Photoucket?” Because I don’t like the limitations they have. MooJooBee.com has decent traffic and images hosted with a site like Photobucket would eventually not show with that annoying *bandwidth exceed* stamp where the image should be. ZenPhoto in my opinion is better than Coppermine (our current gallery code) and MUCH easier to customize to the demands of MooJooBee.com. ZenPhoto loads faster, preserves a seemingly more accurate EXIF data for each image, and I just overall am pleased with it now that I have it working. Now don’t get me wrong… Coppermine is POWERFUL and that is really the reason I am eliminating it from our site as the main gallery program. In many ways Coppermine is better than ZenPhoto, just not for MooJooBee.com. Keep checking back for updates with the release of our new gallery.

Mark and Heather had their wedding. Here is the photo album (www.moojoobee.com/markandheather/wedding/) (one of about three albums, me thinks) that I currently have uploaded. I didn’t bother going through removing bad images since there were so many photos. I’ll leave that up to Mark and Heather.

Tracback: WP 2.5

Awesome! I can not wait for their official RC1. This is very new news.

A customizable dashboard, multi-file upload, built-in galleries, one-click plugin upgrades, tag management, built-in Gravatars, full text feeds, and faster load times sound interesting? Then WordPress 2.5 might be the release for you. It’s been in the oven for a while, and we’re finally ready to open the doors a bit to give you a taste.

Intelligent Adsense

March 12th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Design | Synergy

Here I have created one of three new sites for myself which I hope will in-time flow some google adsense cash my way.  I purchased this domain (.com, .net, .org) a few months back and decided to try something new with it.  Maybe attract people to the site because it provides a simplistic way of setting up your own adsense account.  I hate how every other site out there basically promises you the best SEO’s and advise on how to set up an adsense website then upon reading over their entire site it doesn’t explain one thing…  AND they want you to buy an e-book (which basically is their way of making money)…  such a rip off because you don’t learn anything.

Anyways, here’s the site in about a 90% completion stage.  www.i-adsense.com
