Another social network web site?

No, not exactly… even better

How many social netwok websites do you come across and cringe because they’re all a copy of one another? How many times do you just keep on searching for one that has that extra edge to keep you coming back? One company has finally done it and they are rocketing skyward because they’re offering something that NO other social network site has. This is history in the making and the people at SocialSplash.com have done it!

SocialSplash.com is unique in the sense that it does not just offer the user the option to meet other young people from all over the world; it does something no other social networking website does. Other than the ability to communicate with friends, share photos and videos, create blogs, use the forums to discuss current issues and events, create and join groups, play flash games, takes quizzes, and even create funny pictures using the great option of SplashPix.

In addition to all these great options, SocialSplash.com gives back to the user, unlike all other social networking websites, you earn the so called “Splash Points” which you can convert into gifts. I have never come across such a great concept offered by a community website like that. Whatever you do on the website, like uploading photos, creating a blog or a group, or even use the forums, you get Splash Points, and the more you collect, the better, because if you get a good number of points you can get a gift from the Splash Store.

Might I add that the splash points will currently earn you a $10 Best Buy Gift Card, $10 Starbucks Coffee Gift Card, $10 Blockbuster Gift Card, $20 Target Gift Card, and finally a 1GB Flash-Drive MP3 Player! NO OTHER SOCIAL NETWORK GIVES BACK TO THEIR MEMBERS!!! This site is 100% free and it gives back to it’s members.

333,304,647 people on social networks

Over 333,304,647 people on social networks and across the Web, according to http://wink.com/

Folks, the population of America as we know it today is 301,139,947 (July 2007 est.).  Has the internet overtaken our lives?  Whatever happened to social gatherings?  It seems like those who actually attend social gatherings have a happier outlook on life.  Where are my facts on this?  Just look at those people compared to those who are addicted to their own jail cell of the endless internet.  I really have nothing more to say on this except I am rather shocked at that figure.

Ugly Myspace Friends

Disclaimer: As stated below it says that this is one of my ideas. To clear this up I am the designer of the site, not the actual mind behind it. An idea from a friend was proposed to me about the ideology behind it and I was asked if I could build the site for a small fee. If you would like to contact the site owner and discuss their details please email them at uglymyspacefriends@gmail.com. Sorry for the confusion.

UglyMyspaceFriends.com. Just another one of my stupid ideas. It’s already paid for itself and then some. A friend of mine in Florida is helping me code it. He’s pretty successful (money) with these sites.

Internet Explorer is funny

I keep editing some minor code in the back-end and after being satisfied with it I begin to cross check the layout of MooJooBee with almost every known browser out there. I.E. seems to be the only one showing issues… go figure.  When you first enter MooJooBee with I.E. 7 you’ll notice the error in the bottom left hand side of your browser.  Only in IE…

I found that it’s not actually an error on my part but after further investigation with handle properties in IE I noticed it’s seemingly out of date already.  Good job, Microsoft, on the keep up of updates.  The good thing here, folks, is that the error in IE.7 will correct itself when you click on the “Share this” below each post.  No, I’m not trying to use this as an attempt to get you more involved (though that would be cool, rather, just showing you that Moojoobee is not at fault.

Recently I have been receiving emails from people who stumble upon this web site in regards to the pictures in my header that change every few seconds. I am proud to say that the pictures of of my family and I. Yes, can you believe I am a proud boaster of my family! :) It makes me happy when people ask about the simple details of my life even if it’s online. I have family values and love to share them, however, sometimes debating them as well. Some may ask, “What are family values anymore?” Well, to put it simply:

Family values is a political and social concept used in various cultures to describe values that are believed to be traditional in that culture and in support of the idea that families are the basic units of culture.

Woah!

Did I just say that? Actually, no. That simple quote was taken from the Wikipedia mother brain. It goes on to say that the phrase has different meanings in different cultures. Obviously this can be seen by observing the multiculturalisms in the Middle East. What we consider to be a strong effective family value here in the U.S.A. can most often be a primal laughing source of discussion among many middle eastern cultures.

What bugs me now days, especially with the elections at hand, is how We The People use family values as a wedge in political agendas. Seemingly America was settled with a well rooted, single core family value, God. The perspectives today have stretched as far as the east is from the west. Sadly, families are unable to stay together and endure the hardships which we all face on a day-to-day basis. Screw politics and the integration of real family values in with it. There was a core one time and He is being shoved to the side. The voices are yelling out these days asking, “Why is there so much destruction, divorce, hatred, adultery, deception, murder, violence,….”? The list goes on, folks, on and on…

My questions to you are as follows:

  • Did you develop your own family values after leaving home to be on your own?
  • How much of an influence were your parents/grandparents on your family values?
  • Do you hope to pass your family values onto your children or hope they find their own?
  • What is missing in your surrounding and greater society in regards to family values?
  • Do you firmly believe your family values are the “right” way? If so, why?

I hope this finds you questioning perhaps the biggest questions of all and that is how much of value is your life to you and those you love?  It’s ok to answer it feeling selfish, I won’t hold it against you.
